DeSantis stands 'fully' behind DEFUNDING Planned Parenthood, backs AG Ashley Moody

Florida continues to strongly stand against the allocation of any taxpayer funding to abortion services.

Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., supports defunding pro-abortion clinic Planned Parenthood, according to a report from the Floridian Press.

The outlet shared a statement from Bryan Griffin, DeSantis's press secretary, that revealed: "The Office of Governor Ron DeSantis is fully behind this action from the Attorney General and we support this move to fully defund Planned Parenthood from any taxpayer support."

The governor's statement is in agreement with Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody's move to "vacate an injunction against a Florida law prohibiting state funds from going to Planned Parenthood," a statement from her office reads.

The injunction was originally imposed on HB 1411 in 2016 when a district court stopped the legislature from defunding abortion clinics like Planned Parenthood because of the precedent set in Roe v. Wade.

Now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned, Moody is arguing "that the legal basis for the court's injunction...no longer exists," according to her statement.

DeSantis's unwavering support for moving forward with defunding abortion clinics is pivotal in our nation's progress on defending innocent life.
