Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., posted to Twitter on Wednesday that U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland “must be impeached.”
“Merrick Garland has weaponized the DOJ against Joe Biden’s political enemies,” Greene wrote.
Greene introduced a series of impeachment articles against Garland on Wednesday, "for facilitating the weaponization and politicization of the United States justice system against the American people." The articles cite multiple incidents of scandal and controversy from the attorney general while under tenure.
Greene said that Garland refused to prosecute "leftist extremists that harassed and threatened Supreme Court Justices at their homes in the wake of Dobbs decision."
Additionally, the representative claimed Garland targets “parents who are concerned about their children’s education,” Christians, and pro-life activists.
In an interview with The Columbia Bugle, Greene talked more about the articles.
"The most important thing that Republicans can do is to use the power of impeachment and to use the power of the Holman Rule and to use the power we have in appropriations to end the Reign of Terror that has been brought on by Biden's Department of Justice and FBI,” Greene said.
The congresswoman also filed articles of impeachment against the attorney general in August of last year over the Mar-a-Lago raid.
Now, Greene is going after Garland for a “violation of justice.”
Biden's attorney general "continues to materially endanger the justice system of the United States and empower President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., to persecute his political adversaries at will," the impeachment articles read.
